Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige gives us some hints about what to expect with the Black Widow prequel. The standalone movie has yet to be announced by the studio, though it is already presumably shooting in Eastern Europe at the moment. Scarlett Johansson has been spotted on the set with her trademark Natasha Romanoff look, but the project, like anything else from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is shrouded in mystery at the moment. Thankfully, Feige has given us an idea of what we can expect. Natasha Romanoff is dead. We all saw it happen in Avengers: Endgame, so the Black Widow movie pretty much has to be a prequel for logistical reasons. There have been rumors to the contrary, but Kevin Feige has all but guaranteed a prequel in this case. With that being said, Feige has now talked about how going backwards for that story could push Phase 4 further along. He explains. "There's a method to the madness. There's always a method and doing things in an unexpected way is something we find fun. There are ways to do prequels that are less informative or answer questions you didn't necessarily have, and then there are ways to do prequels where you learn all sorts of things you never knew before." When it comes to the Black Widow movie, it seems we are going to see the more informative prequel Kevin Feige referred to. And for a possible template, the Marvel Studios boss has a pretty lofty goal, which makes sense. You don't become one of the biggest franchises in the world by not taking risks. Feige had this to say about the "supposed" Black Widow prequel.
